TouchOSC | LayoutUpdated: Mar 13, 2012
A layout in TouchOSC terms is a file that contains a set of pages with controls plus their individual settings, OSC- and MIDI-mappings. These files have a .touchosc extension when transferred or downloaded to a desktop computer.
TouchOSC layout files can be created and modified using the TouchOSC Editor application which we'll discuss in the Editing layouts chapter.
Layouts can be transferred to the device over a WiFi network using the TouchOSC Editor, or managed using a USB cable connection and iTunes. Both methods will be discussed on the following pages.
On TouchOSC's main configuration screen the layout section displays the name of the currently active layout or Not set if no layout is currently active. Selecting this row will take you to TouchOSC's layout setup screen from where you can load, delete and add new layout files to your device.
